Many Hollywood stars have welcomed children late in life, and it seems to be a common trend among many A-List women.
1. Nicole Kidman
The Big Little Lies star has been very candid about her struggles with infertility. After adopting two children, she welcomed her daughter with husband Keith Urban when she was 41 years old.
2. Celine Dion
The singing sensation also had problems with infertility, and after multiple failed cycles of IVF, she gave birth to twin boys, Eddy and Nelson, aged 42. She had also welcomed her eldest son, René-Charles, in her late thirties.
3. Eva Mendes
Eva Mendes became a mum at 40 when she and Ryan Gosling welcomed their first daughter, Esmeralda. Two years later, she had her second daughter, Amada. She describes motherhood nights as some of the wildest nights she’s ever had!
4. Meryl Streep
The Oscar-winning actress has four children and welcomed her last child, daughter Louisa, in 1991, just before she turned 42.
5. Madonna
Like Streep, Madonna also welcomed a child at 42; her son, Rocco. She previously had her daughter Lourdes in her late thirties, and went on to adopt four other children into her family, making her a mum of six!
6. Eva Longoria
The Desperate Housewives alum welcomed her first child, Santiago, this summer, at the age of 43. She’s currently counting her blessings but would like more kids in the future.
7. Janet Jackson
Jackson gave birth to her son, Eissa, just two weeks before she turned 50 in 2016.
8. Susan Saradon
In her late and mid-forties, she had two sons: Jack at 42, and Miles at 45. She actually had a medical condition that would prevent her from being a mother, but the stars aligned, and she did!
9. Mariah Carey
The Grammy-award winner gave birth to twins Moroccan and Monroe in 2011, when she was 42, with then-husband, Nick Cannon.
10. Meghan Markle
She’s the only woman in this list who’s a few years away from 40, and is still expecting, but we couldn’t leave her out! Soon-to-be mum, Meghan Markle is expecting her first child with Prince Harry in Spring 2019 at the age of 37. It is uncertain whether the royal baby is a boy or a girl, and as custom goes, we’ll only find out when he or she arrives!
