3 Maltese Designers Making Exquisite Headpieces
While perhaps not quite as popular as they used to be, hats and headpieces will always have pride of place in the wedding world, and we love them! Here are three Maltese designers whose creations would top off any wedding outfit perfectly.
ADALIA B
AB Headpieces - Authentic & Bespoke
Having officially launched her headpieces at last year’s Malta Fashion Week, Adalia Bonnici actually started creating headpieces in 2014. Her meticulous handiwork is evident in her bespoke creations for weddings, holy communions and fashion events, and having both local and international customers, we think she’s only just getting started.
MARPESIA & CO
Marpesia & Co.
Currently based in London, Martina, the talented maker behind Marpesia & Co. makes delicate handmade jewellery and headpieces using a variety of materials. On her Etsy page, she says that while doing her Master’s degree in Decorative Art and Design History, she “began to see jewellery not just as something colourful and shiny but as an art form in itself” – and it’s certainly reflected in her work.
LE CHAPEAU
Le Chapeau by Josette
And now for a seasoned veteran, Josette Farrugia, the milliner behind Le Chapeau, has been on the local scene for some time, and specialises in bespoke hats and fascinators for weddings and other special events. Working out of her shop in Zabbar, she custom makes her colourful hats to coordinate with her clients’ outfits. She also offers handmade tiaras and bridesmaids' hair accessories, and with a slew of happy customers singing her praises, who are we to argue?
