You’ve said ‘I do’, partied hard, and celebrated like there’s no tomorrow. After spending a pretty penny on your wedding flowers, it’s a shame to see them wilt or die. Here are 5 ways to make the most of your flowers after the big day comes and goes.
1. Donate them
Flowers have always cheered people up! Donate your bouquets to retirement homes, organisations, and hospitals to brighten up their day.
2. Preserve
Brides are now opting to keep their wedding flowers as keepsakes. Preserving them as dried lowers usually does the trick, and you’ll need to decide whether to preserve the whole bouquet or just a few blooms. We recommend speaking to a preservation specialist, who will help guide you through the process.
3. Give them away to guests
Your flowers won’t die overnight, and there might be too many to take home with you. Give some as wedding favours to your guests, either in the form of small bunches or centrepieces to place at home.
4. Leave them with a lost loved one
Leaving your wedding flowers by a close relative or friend’s grave can be a thoughtful way of remembering them, and somehow including them in your big day too.
5. Turn your flowers into something new
You can always keep your flowers and make them into something practical. Flower petals can be turned into a wax candle, or custom-made jewellery, or even potpourri!
