1. Brooke and Michael
Brooke was studying in Europe and for three months, the couple were “non-stop talking and texting,” sharing “countless Skype dates and nine-hour FaceTime calls,” and finally met up in Paris. That night, they went out to dinner near the Eiffel Tower which Michael claims to have been “taunting her with for weeks.” They were walking (Brooke faster than Michael, because she was hungry) across the bridge overlooking the Eiffel Tower. Michael lingered behind and called Brooke back. Begrudgingly, she walked back over to him, he got down on one knee and asked “the easiest questions I’ve ever asked.”
2. Kristin and Brian
Brian is a pilot in the Air Force National Guard and was stationed in Antarctica for six weeks. While there, he bought Kristin a plane ticket to Chicago, her hometown, to visit her friends. Kristin and her best friend were walking down Michigan Avenue to begin their night out on the town, when she “turned the corner and dropped to my knees: Brian was HOME!” Brian claims he has “never seen a reaction that sincere in my entire life.” She ran to him, he got down on one knee and in between sobs she said yes!
3. Michelle and Ben
This was one extravagant proposal! Ben and Michelle were heading to Moab for an event and he knew he wanted to propose to her at the Delicate Arch. The best time would be to propose at sunrise because there wouldn’t be many people out yet, so they headed to the arch early in the morning. After a long drive and a hike to the arch, Ben dropped to one knee and poured his heart out. Michelle also dropped to her knees in tears, and neither of them are sure if she said ‘yes’, but “her tears were enough.”
4. Kathryn and Rajiv
It was a family affair for this couple! Kathryn and Rajiv were back in Michigan for the annual get-together with 60 of Kathryn’s aunts, uncles, and cousins, but little did she know that a proposal was coming her way! Rajiv and Kathryn’s sister, Elizabeth were planning the perfect proposal. Elizabeth hired a photographer to take photos of the whole family. At the end of the photo session, the usually shy Rajiv called out for a silly photo, and Kathryn just couldn’t understand what the man was doing! He waved her over and their favourite song started playing, then he said “you know you’re my favourite person”, and then it clicked. Kathryn proceeded to hit him rather hard in the chest and yell “ARE YOU DOING THIS?” – which is probably what every girl is screaming on the inside. She immediately said yes!
5. Lauren and Alexander
Last May, Lauren and Alexander welcomed their son, Seamus. The next day, one of the nurses came in to take the baby for a hearing test, but little did Lauren know that it was for something entirely different! Alex slipped out and helped the nurses get Seamus into a onesie that read “Mommy, will you marry my Daddy?” and on the back, “Say Yes!” As soon as Seamus was handed back to her, she read the onesie and immediately started crying. Alex got down on one knee in front of their family members and asked her to spend the rest of her life with him. The nurses said that in all their years of practice, they had never seen anything like this!
6. Brianna and Brandon
Brianna had just completed her first year at medical school, and Brandon told her to keep the day free to celebrate. A pretty normal thing, right? Wrong – not when there’s a proposal involved! Brandon told her she’ll be playing a game that involved going round New York with clues to solve. Each one had a special meaning: a book of 1,437 times they’ve texted ‘I love you’ to each other; 47 pictures of them smiling together symbolising the 47 months they’d been together; and 205 daffodils to represent the number of weeks they’d known each other. At the last stop, her friends blindfolded her and took her to the first place she met Brandon, where she found him down on one knee, and asked her “the easiest question I’ve ever had to answer”, said Brianna.
7. Jamie and Frank
Jamie, Frank, and Riley (Jamie’s son) were getting professional pictures taken in Maryland, but Jamie had no idea what was coming. The photographer told Riley to pretend to whisper a secret into his mum’s ear. “Mommy, will you marry Frank?” Jamie had no idea what he was talking about, so he repeated himself and she finally turned around and with Riley’s permission, Frank popped the question!
8. Nicole and Chad
This is one proposal we’ve never heard of before! Nicole was due to escort designer Elias Gutierrez out for his final bow at a NY fashion show, all while wearing a wedding dress. At the end of the show, she turned to leave but Elias pulled her back, only to find Chad on the runway, and her jaw instantly dropped. He told her he had been “wanting to do this for a long time” and the he wanted to ask her while she was doing something she loved – modelling. After she said yes, their family and a few friends popped up on the runway too – what a sweet ending!
