Last weekend, Kersten Borg, president and director of Miss Malta, tied the knot with his sweetheart, Shanice. The long-time couple dated for six years before tying the knot, and both of them work in the local modelling scene. But what was so special about their wedding?

Most brides tend to prefer to leave their wedding day look a surprise for their husband-to-be. Perhaps it’s a mix of tradition and superstition too… but not for this couple.

Kersten, who is also a stylist and fashion designer, designed his now-wife’s wedding dress himself. It wasn’t his first either, having designed wedding dresses for other clients. Moreover, he was even present for Shanice’s fittings, and got to witness her final bridal look before the big day first-hand. Unconventional or what?
