On April 29th, the Prince and Princess of Wales will celebrate 14 years of marriage not with pomp and ceremony, but with purpose and community spirit. The royal couple will spend their wedding anniversary in the scenic Scottish Highlands, specifically on the Isle of Mull in the Inner Hebrides – a location full of heritage and natural beauty.
Their visit will begin in Tobermory, the colourful town famous for being the setting of the beloved children's TV show ‘Balamory’. While in Scotland, they are known by their Scottish titles: the Duke and Duchess of Rothesay.
The couple's itinerary reflects their deep commitment to community and charity. Through their Royal Foundation, they will announce a new partnership focused on developing and supporting two important community spaces on the Isle of Mull – a meaningful gesture to a region that was once part of the domain of the powerful Lord of the Isles, a title now held by Prince William as part of his inheritance from King Charles.
This milestone comes at a poignant time for the royal family. Kate, Princess of Wales, returned to public engagements last September following treatment for cancer. She has since shared her journey with openness and grace, announcing in a heartfelt video that she had completed chemotherapy and was now focused on staying healthy and cancer-free.
Wishing the royal couple a safe and happy trip!
