Nationalist Member of Parliament Ryan Callus and his wife, Maria Callus, welcomed their first child last night, and the couple chose an adorable, and sentimental name for their daughter.
“I thank God for our first new-born baby daughter, Nina (named in memory of my mother Antoinette) born last night,” the politician wrote in a post on Facebook.
“Thank you Maria for the sacrifice over the past months. Special thanks to the exceptional medical team at Mater Dei Hospital. This happiest day of my life has brought a new responsibility – the biggest so far.”
The couple tied the knot on 8th December 2015. Callus had famously proposed to Maria during a three-week mission trip to Kenya in August 2014, in front of a large group of children they had befriended on the trip.
