A popular saying goes: “if a man works hard to create the perfect proposal, then the man will be a hardworking husband every day.” That quote might have been lifted off a shoddy website, but its relevance is about to be proven by what we’re about to reveal.
Lee Loechler, an American filmmaker, came up with an ingenious, adorable and absolutely memorable way to propose to his High School sweetheart. With some help, Lee animated himself and girlfriend Sthuthi David, a cardiologist, into the end scenes of Disney’s 1959 classic Sleeping Beauty, and the result is mind-blowing.
The video, which was posted to Instagram less than a day ago, reveals just how much work went into what is now being referred to as the cutest proposal of 2020. “It’s not every day you get to propose to your High School sweetheart. For the past six months I’ve been working with @kaylacoombs to animate @stutzd4 and myself into her favourite movie, Sleeping Beauty. The only thing better than seeing the smartest person I know completely dumbfounded was knowing we’d get to live happily ever after together!”
The video, which has since gone viral, shows an oblivious Sthuthi sitting beside a highly bemused Lee, as they enjoy the final moments of the film. The characters gradually morph into avatars representing the now-engaged character and Sthuthi’s face as it melts from intense confusion into utter disbelief makes the clip one of the cutest (and funniest) videos we’ve seen this year so far.
