The long-awaited wedding between World No. 2 tennis superstar Rafael Nadal and his sweetheart of 14 years Mery (Xisca) Perello took place this weekend on the island of Mallorca, Spain, and it was the true definition of a European fairy tale!
Mery walked down the aisle to a stunning and luxurious Mediterranean backdrop, but what was even more beautiful was the demure design of her wedding dress. Fashion designer Rosa Clará reveals details of the design: “the bodice, with jewel neckline and long sleeves, was made of beautiful Art Deco-inspired French lace with delicate patterning, flower motifs and micro beading on the meticulously hand-embroidered fabric.”
Rosa continues that “the ballgown-style skirt, made of silk crepe, featured a weightless detachable train, created in Rosa Clara's Atelier,” and admits that the whole process was “full of emotions between all of us.”
It was also revealed that a second dress had been commissioned by Mery, which was worn later during the ceremony. Although pictures are yet to surface, Rosa shares her design to provide a visual reference.
“There are no words to describe such a charming and fascinating couple,” she concludes. “Mery, you looked incredibly elegant and delightful, a unique bride!”
Congratulations Rafa and Xisca!
