The Top Wedding Trends This Summer
While the classics will always remain so, it’s always fun to experiment with the latest trends. Here are our favourites for summer 2017!
BLUSH
Both trending and timeless, blush rose pink has become synonymous with weddings, so much so that it looks set to become a classic. We love this feminine shade on everything from flowers and bridesmaids’ dresses to venue décor, stationery and accessories.
SOFT PETAL BLOOMS
This year, soft petal blooms like peonies, garden roses, ranunculus and dahlias are the most requested flowers among Maltese and international brides, and they’re so gorgeous to look at! Create a romantic effect by using peonies in your bridal bouquet, or go for a real wow factor by incorporating loose rose petals scattered on tables – another trend that’s going strong.
STYLISH SWINGS
Beautifully decorated swings serve as a lush backdrop for photos, and create a lovely spot at your reception for guests to lounge. It’s ideal for when you’d like to give your feet a break from the dancefloor, but still look bridal and fabulous while doing it!
HAND CALLIGRAPHY
The past years have seen such a huge rise in the popularity of hand calligraphy that it’s not uncommon for the bride and groom to try their hand at it! Fortunately, if you love the look but aren’t as keen on doing it yourself, there are several artists and designers that offer the service for your invitations.
CLASSIC COCKTAILS
While signature cocktails named after the couple have become a staple at wedding receptions in Malta and abroad, this year we’re seeing a return to the classics. Old favourites like the Moscow mule, Pimm’s Cup and the sidecar are finding their way onto wedding cocktail menus once again, and are sure to have the older generations react with more than a little nostalgia!
