Father and daughter Robby and Marli Odgers brought a smile to people’s faces with the most heart-warming video of love and positivity – at a time when it is greatly needed.

Bobby was looking for a way to cheer up his daughter, Marli, whose prom night got cancelled in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, and thought one way to do so is to share a dance with his daughter.

“I am an emotional person, I am the crier of the family,” Robby said, “so I had to do everything I could to hold back the tears.”

Robby, who wore a suit for the occasion, complete with a baseball cap and flip flops, said “she was very much looking forward to her senior prom, so I just started thinking, what could we do to at least do something that would make her think it was, well, maybe not prom, but a version of a prom.”

After inviting her to a dance with a note that read ‘Today is Prom! One dance with Dad. Will you go with me?’, Marli turned up looking sensational in her floor-length white prom dress. “I was really emotional and I’m not an emotional person,” she said. “When I put on [my dress], I was just really upset but it’s something I’ll never forget.”

Her father added that sharing the moment with his daughter was special. “To be able to hold your daughter close, dance with her and have that special feeling – she absolutely looked stunning.”
