It’s not every day that you come across a wedding like this – you know, a biker-themed wedding complete with a couple bike ride just before the ceremony! Meet Rudy, 22, and Alex, 34 – a Maltese-Hungarian couple that had quite the wedding!
The pair met a year and a half ago and hit it off right away, and since their first date, they never spent a day apart. Rudy tells us about the day Alex proposed, which was initially a prank on his friend! “On his birthday (28th January 2018) we went for dinner along with his best friend, and Alex wanted to prank his best friend by proposing to me next to his bike in the middle of Bugibba Square,” she said. “Although at that time he said it was just a prank, deep down he wanted it to be the real deal. So, we decided to go with it and start organising a wedding!”
Two things the couple really loves are traveling and bikes, so for the wedding, they decided to create invitations in a flight ticket format, and a photo of the two of them on the bike along with the wedding details.

“We also decided to organise a biker-themed wedding. We used to go for rides with a group of friends, so we decided to meet up at my mum's house (all of us, including the groom) and right before the civil ceremony we went for a Sunday Coast Road ride.”
The couple also decked out their helmets for the special occasion: Rudy’s with a veil and Alex’s with a small hat. “We also walked down the aisle with the helmets!” Unconventional or what?
“The cake topper was made by Alex and it showed a silhouette of us with a bike. We also had a frame of us on the bike at the entrance.”
As one can imagine, their post-wedding shoot included the bike as well. “This was simply a dream come true. Everyone thought we’re crazy and wondered how I’d manage to hop on the bike with such a long train, but hey! We managed.”
