A celebration of love is taking place on the other side of the globe as Thailand has made same-sex marriage legal, the first country in Southeast Asia to recognise marriage equality. This allowed hundreds of same-sex couples to finally have their union officially recognised by the state, and to receive their marriage certificates, leading to some truly moving moments across the country.
The Thai celebrity couple Apiwat ‘Porsch’ Apiwatsayree and Sappanyoo ‘Arm’ Panatkool has shared their exuberance at being able to celebrate their official union, after being together for 17 years. The actor and Youtuber Apiwat ‘Porsch’ posted a sweet photo of himself standing proudly beside his now-husband, with the caption ‘First day of equal marriage in Thailand, we are now official and legal Husband and Husband’.
